Production Work

- Expect variation in both  the glaze

color, and the individual forms.

All production work is cone 6 porcelain, and fired in an oxidation chamber.  The work is microwave, dishwasher, and food safe.  The work is not recommended for oven ware, since  specific precautions must be met.  This work is intended for everyday use, and should last for generations to come.

During the past six years my work has been focused on developing a balance between the natural tendency of clay while maintaining a conscious control over its form and function. I use a variety of techniques including extrusion and hand-building. Occasionally I combine these (the latter) with shapes that I have turned on the potter’s wheel. The wide range of depth and texture in my glazes reflect the organic appearance of my forms.  It is my intension to sustain the essence of the pre-fired fluid quality of the clay while capturing the personality and simplicity of each piece I create.
